Jacob Merkord

A native Central Texan, Jacob Merkord grew up in Walburg, Texas. His practice focuses primarily on representing and protecting the constitutional rights of Texas landowners facing condemnation and eminent-domain proceedings.
Mr. Merkord graduated with honors from the University of Texas, receiving a B.A. in history in 2007. He earned his law degree in 2010 from Tulane University Law School, where he was a member of Tulane Moot Court. As a law student, Mr. Merkord interned for The Vice President of Uganda and for the Orleans Public Defenders’ Office. After graduation, Jacob received valuable training in property valuation at a prominent Austin-based appraisal firm before joining Johns Marrs Ellis & Hodge in 2012.
