On June 14^th, Luke Ellis and Jacob Merkord traveled to Joppa, Texas in Burnet County to speak about eminent domain proceedings to residents of Joppa, many of whom own properties that may be condemned by Sempra LNG & Midstream and Boardwalk Pipeline Partners’ Permian – Katy “P2K” natural gas pipeline. Joppa’s residents, who had collectively invited the attorneys of Marrs Ellis & Hodge to come speak at the event, engaged in a lively question and answer session with Luke and Jacob, asking about various components of condemnation and eminent domain law in Texas. While the pipeline is not projected to be operational until the third quarter of 2020, construction and eminent domain proceedings will likely begin in 2019.
